Comptroller Stringer Appoints New Head of Private Equity in the Bureau of Asset Management

(New York, NY) – Today, New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer announced the appointment of J. David Enriquez the Head of Private Equity in the Bureau of Asset Management (BAM), effective immediately. As Head of Private Equity, Enriquez will oversee the five NYC Retirement pension systems (the Systems) over $12 billion private equity portfolio. Enriquez previously served as Interim Co-Head of Private Equity, and before that was a Senior Investment Officer for Private Equity in BAM.

“I am pleased to announce the promotion of David Enriquez to Head of Private Equity in the Bureau of Asset Management,” said Comptroller Scott M. Stringer. “David has been a prudent and thoughtful portfolio manager and I know he will continue to be a valued member of the Comptroller’s office, strengthening the work of the Bureau of Asset Management and protecting the retirement of New York City pensioners.”

Prior to joining the Comptroller’s office Bureau of Asset Management in February 2016, Mr. Enriquez most recently worked as an investment banker at Rothschild, Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns, with experience executing strategic advisory and financing transactions representing more than $200 billion in transaction value. Mr. Enriquez holds an A.B. from Brown University, an M.P.A. from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
