Singapore, 30 March 2007...The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has launched a third set of coins to commemorate the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) Identity Plan featuring Rustic Coast.
Coin Design
2 The coin designs are based on the four areas in the Rustic Coast cluster – Changi Village, Pasir Ris Park, Pulau Ubin and Punggol Point & Coney Island. The obverse of the coins bears the Singapore Arms with the year 2007.
Limited Worldwide Mintage
3 The coins will be issued on Monday, 30 April 2007. The details of the coins are:
a) $1 Silver Proof Coin
17.30 grams of 999 fine silver with colour application. Mintage of 8,000 pieces per design only.
b) $1 Cupro-Nickel Proof-Like Coin
Proof-like condition with selective colour application. Mintage will be based on demand.

URA’s Identity Plan aims to preserve the unique essence of places that are close to Singaporeans’ hearts by recognising, retaining and enhancing them. These areas are grouped into various clusters. The first set of coins issued by MAS was for the Old World Charm cluster while the second was for the Urban Villages cluster.
